New 2011 Holiday / Winter Children's Picture Book Titles

I recently watched an awesome video that shows how to build a Christmas tree out of picture books. David Maybury posted the video on his blog last week and several people linked to it on twitter.

Over the last few years I've added several Christmas picture books to our collection so I decided to take them off the shelf and involve my family in a Christmas tree book pyramid building project. We sorted our books by size to determine which to use in our structure. Luckily, several of our hardcover books were the same height. We started with a base of seven books and placed our holiday paperback books horizontally in between the upright levels. Our finished picture book Christmas tree stands six levels tall and we used a total of 39 books. Our pyramid isn't as wide as the one in the video but it's still a pretty spectacular tree. Can you guess what book we used on top? (Hint: Star appears in the title.)

Do you need to add a few more holiday titles to your book collection? I compiled a list of several new 2011 Christmas / Holiday / Winter picture books. I hope you'll make sure there are a few books under your Christmas tree this year -- books make the perfect holiday gift! Any new titles I missed?
