Easy to Make Homemade Cheerleading Pom Poms

What an awesome win for the Green Bay Packers tonight! Earlier today my daughter wanted to make some cheerleader pom poms to go with her Packers cheerleading outfit. (I found the outfit earlier this summer for a bargain at a garage sale, and she loves wearing it on game day.) I searched online for a pom pom making tutorial and we decided to make the cheap and easy kind out of tissue paper. Our green and gold pom poms turned out cute and the pair only took about five minutes to make. Rather than reposting the instructions I'll refer you the Flickr site for instructions: How to make a cheerleader's pom pom

Turns out that tonight was a great night to root for the Packers. We're so excited that they won against the Falcons! Unfortunately my daughter had to go to bed before the game ended, but she cheered for most of the first half.

I also ran across some cute Pom Pom Gloves on Toddler Approved. Maybe that will have to be our project before next week's game.

Do you have any suggestions for children's picture books on the subject of football? If the Packers win the NFC Championship game next week, we might have to hold a football themed reading week before the Super Bowl! Go Pack!

These are so cute. If JDaniel had a set, do you think he would let my husband watch the game?

I love those.. I went to the site to see how to make them but it did not really go much into detail. Go Packers..

Those are cute! And I bet they do make a wonderful and exciting sound. I've added a link back to your post on my tissue paper post.

Those are so cute! I was a pom pom girl for our marching band dance line in high school, so I still have 2 or 3 pairs of my real pom poms. They're orange, though, instead of the Gold and Black that we'd need here in Pittsburgh while rooting for the Steelers ;)
