Unexpected

************** Update 12/6 - Thanks so much for all your thoughtful comments and prayers. Our little guy is back at home and feeling much better. He was admitted to the hospital for low oxygen levels and dehydration caused by a fever and croup (swelling around the vocal cords). We are thankful that he does not have pneumonia. He has the tendency to get croup when he gets sick, but this is the first time that it became so severe that he needed hospital care. He was not at all happy having an IV inserted in his arm at first, but I was surprised how well he adjusted to staying at the hospital and how well he behaved the two days he was there. Not once did he try to get out of his bed.

I'm still a bit sleep deprived, and we are trying to keep things low-key for a few more days. He still has a lingering cough and runny nose. We hope that his body can fight the illness off quickly so that he can breathe easily again.

My son was admitted to the hospital with a respiratory illness on Thursday morning. I'm not sure when I will resume blogging. Right now my attention is focused on him and my family.
