Do you snack while you read? If so, favorite reading snack?
Sometimes I snack on dry cereal, right out of the box
Do you tend to mark your books as you read, or does the idea of writing in books horrify you?
I use a pencil sparingly. I hate highlighters.

I use bookmarks if I have one handy. Otherwise I use an unused Kleenex tissue. I'm a lucky member of The Literate Housewife's Bookmark It! Club and receive a beautiful new bookmark each month. See a picture of July's bookmark to the right.
Fiction, Non-fiction, or both?
Both, but mostly fiction
Hard copy or audiobooks?
Before I had kids, I listened to quite a few audiobooks. Unfortunately, they don't enjoy listening to them. I read hard copy now.
Are you a person who tends to read to the end of chapters, or are you able to put a book down at any point?
I always read to the end of the chapter. Once and awhile I cheat and will even read the end of the book before I'm finished. Sometimes that's the only way I'm able to set a book down and go to bed!
If you come across an unfamiliar word, do you stop to look it up right away?
Depends on the situation
What are you currently reading?
New Year at the Pier: A Rosh Hashanah Story
What is the last book you bought?
The Monster at the End of this Book
Are you the type of person that only reads one book at a time or can you read more than one at a time?
I'm a juggler - more than one.
Do you have a favorite time of day and/or place to read?
Mother to small children - I read later in the evening or in the car. We read picture books any time of the day.
Do you prefer series books or stand alone books?
No preference
Is there a specific book or author that you find yourself recommending over and over?
The Thirteenth Tale: A Novel
How do you organize your books? (By genre, title, author’s last name, etc.?)
There's no organization in this house. However, all the picture books are together in the kids' bookshelves.

I've seen the Thirteenth Tale about the blogosphere.. hope you are enjoying it.
I loved your comments and clarification on "Kids and Reading don't mix"... sad thing is I understood you the first time, since I definitely can't read when the kids are around!
I am jealous of the bookmark club members, you lucky girl!
I read the Thirteenth Tale in our book group early this year and really enjoyed it (I was the only one in the group who liked it!), and I just recommended it to my mother too. I love the Monster at the End of this Book. I will invest in a copy as soon as our son shows interest. I enjoyed your answers. Oh, and I LOVE dry cereal. I've never liked milk in my cereal (mushy, eww), and I could polish off a box of cereal/day.
We have my copy of THE MONSTER AT THE END OF THE BOOK from ... well ... a LONG time ago!
I can only listen to audiobooks on iPod when walking; sometimes the kids will listen to a kids book on long car rides.
What a cute bookmark. Where on earth did you get it? LOL! It looks really nice in your post the way you have it photographed.
I loved The Thirteenth Tale, too. I know I'll be reading that again someday. Have you read The Sister by Poppy Adams? It's not as good as that, but it has the same type of great tone.
Highlighting text always makes me think of my college days. It's not something I do either.
The Thirteenth Tale is such a good book, isn't it?
I enjoyed reading your answers!
I cheat sometimes, too! But I'm getting better at convincing myself not to spoil the story. I don't know what I do that.
