Wordless Wednesday - 90th

Grandpa celebrated his 90th! He still lives on the farm where he grew up and keeps up a nice garden.

What happened in 1919? Fact Monster from Information Please has all the answers: http://www.factmonster.com/year/1919.html

A couple of 1919 trivia bits from Fact Monster:
- Dial telephones are introduced by the American Telephone and Telegraph Company.
- The 18th amendment to the Constitution, prohibiting the sale of alcoholic beverages anywhere in the U.S., is ratified (Jan. 16).

Guess what else turned 90 this year? A&W root beer

My great grandma lived to be just weeks shy of her 98th birthday... They have such neat stories to share, dont they?

A garden is a lot of work. I couldn't imagine doing it at 90. Good for him!
