Milkshake "Screen Play" DVD Review and Giveaway

"I’m a Superhero, searching for the truth; Looking for the answers and putting them to use. I’m a Superhero, learning how to read; I get my superpowers from my library." - "Superhero" words and music by Milkshake
24 Times. That's approximately how many times the kids could conceivably watch the DVD Screen Play by Milkshake daily during their waking hours. And, if my daughter ruled the roost, you can bet we'd come close. I'm actually thinking twice about giving away the extra copy we received because I'm afraid ours will wear out!

If you watch PBS, Discovery Kids, or Noggin you've probably seen Milkshake. Kind of hard to miss the tutu wearing lead singer Lisa Mathews and the funky, award-winning Milkshake rock band! All I know is that my preschooler daughter absolutely adores their music and has several of their songs memorized. Luckily, the music appeals to me as well. My husband agrees. Now that is a compliment.

Milkshake released their first DVD titled Screen Play last year. The collection of videos on the DVD includes all our favorite songs from their CDs and a few backstage clips of the band being their silly selves. The main part of the DVD runs about 33 minutes. You can view some of the videos here:

Songs on the DVD:
We Got A Band • Superhero • Bluebird • Baseball • Rainy Day • Imagination Nation • Pirates • Home on the Range • Fingers & Toes • ABC of Me • Jump

Bonus Videos:
Reading • Bottle of Sunshine • Lisa's Cut - ABC of Me • Picture This • Practice Makes Perfect

The videos have a groovy feel that matches the band's laid back, fun style. With creative lyrics and catchy, happy songs it is hard not to dance and sing along. Plus, the band promotes reading! Highly recommended for ages 1 - 8+! Don't forget to check out their CDs as well: Happy Songs, Bottle of Sunshine and Play!

Milkshake has offered to giveaway the DVD Screen Play, CD Play! and a Milkshake comic book to one Brimful Curiosities reader.
