Newbery, Caldecott and More: The winners you've been waiting for

The American Library Association (ALA) has just announced their book picks for children and young adults.

The 2009 Newbery Medal winner is The Graveyard Book by Neil Gaiman, illustrated by Dave McKean.

The 2009 Caldecott Medal winner is The House in the Night illustrated by Beth Krommes, written by Susan Marie Swanson.

The 2009 Coretta Scott King Book Award goes to We Are the Ship: The Story of Negro League Baseball, written and illustrated by Kadir Nelson.

The 2009 Geisel Award winner is Are You Ready to Play Outside? written and illustrated by Mo Willems.

The 2009 Michael L. Printz Award (YA) Winner is Jellicoe Road by Melina Marchetta.
